ABOUT RICCARDO GUIDI
After a successful PhD at Karolinska Institutet (Stockholm - Sweden), I was looking for a radical different research experience. For these reasons, on May 2014, I joined Dr. Mark Wilson’s lab, at the National Institute for Medical Research (NIMR, London), now The Francis Crick Institute. The lab moved to Genentech, in South San Francisco, in 2016.My research interest has now moved on type-2 immunity, the immune response elicited against helminth infections and responsible for allergic reactions. Particularly, my research focuses on the role of micro-RNAs (miRNAs) in the regulation of a type-2 immunity, and the role of miRNAs transfer between cells in disease establishment.I have the mental posture for success and I am a productive science writer: with my PhD supervisor, I\'ve obtained two grants from Karolinska to finance my research. At The Crick, I obtained a Marie Curie Fellowship for my postdoc. In years, I have constructed a solid network of collaborators from Denmark and Italy to outsource the tools needed to perform my research at best.Additionally to research, I am a freelance science communicator, who contributed to italian and international magazine. To ensure that my message is taken up by the audience, I would employ any trick, including videos.
