ABOUT RICARDO V.

As a Planning Associate at Los Angeles City Planning, I apply my Master of Public Policy degree and my extensive background in economic development, policy, and public affairs to advance the city\'s strategic goals and initiatives. I collaborate with private sector partners, local, state, and federal government agencies, and community stakeholders to create and implement policies and programs that support the economic vitality and sustainability of LA\'s diverse sectors and neighborhoods.I have over four years of experience working on technology policy issues within government, think tanks, and public interest groups, or relevant community settings. Previously, I served as an Executive Officer at the Mayor\'s Office of Economic Development, where I was responsible for ensuring alignment between our four teams and the Mayor\'s Economic Development agenda. I also drove policy development and implementation in key areas that impacted the tech and venture capital community, hospital and healthcare, biotech and health tech, aerospace and defense, and small and medium sized manufacturers. I have strong skills in legislation and rule tracking, intergovernmental relations, public relations, and editorial. I am passionate about making LA a more equitable, innovative, and resilient city for all.
