   I primarily work with manufacturers and marketers of foods (including dietary supplements) and cosmetics on a wide range of FDA, USDA, and FTC regulatory issues. I advise clients ranging from start-ups to multinational companies at all points in the supply chain, including bulk ingredient manufacturers, distributors of packaged goods, and electronic retailers. I counsel clients on the regulatory status of ingredients and finished products, including those produced through novel technologies. I also advise on compliance with labeling and advertising requirements, and represent advertisers in challenges brought through the National Advertising Division. In enforcement matters, I counsel clients on managing inspections, responding to warning letters and other enforcement actions by federal and state regulators, and resolving import detentions. I also help clients navigate product recalls and related corrective actions. I routinely apply my subject matter expertise to corporate transactions, issuing opinions and conducting due diligence for acquisitions and IPOs.My approach to counseling clients draws on insights gained in my former role as an Associate Chief Counsel at FDA, where I advised the agency on development of regulations and guidance documents, reviewed warning letters, and helped provide technical assistance on proposed legislation to Congress. I am a member of the Food and Drug Law Institute and currently serve on its Board of Directors. I am also a member of the American Bar Association, the Institute of Food Technologists, and the European Food Law Association.
