ABOUT RICA YACON

I am a highly motivated graduate of the Chemical Engineering program at McMaster University with a specialization in Process Systems Engineering. I have a diverse set of experiences that have allowed me to showcase my abilities whilst gaining new ones. In my 16 months of co-op working at Embassy Ingredients Ltd, I was able to have the unique opportunity to work across three different departments: Quality, R&D Flavour Lab, and R&D Bakery Lab. During this time, I was able to demonstrate my strong laboratory and computer abilities, time-management from working on various projects simultaneously, and critical thinking required to adapt to a large variety of duties. I have also shown my ability to be a self-starter by eagerly taking on tasks that are beyond my comfort-zone and still completing them efficiently. In addition to my previous co-op work experience, my multitude of extracurricular involvement has allowed me to greatly evolve professionally. These roles have allowed me to strengthen my communications skills, ability to problem-solve, and be a team player. I am always looking for new experiences to diversify the topics I have great knowledge about. My drive to deliver high-quality results and passion for learning has kept me open-minded and adaptable in any situation.
