About Ria Thapa

Hailing from the Land of Mountains, Nepal, I was brought up in India, which kind of explains why I know both the languages Hindi and Nepali (currently learning Korean *whispers) I am passionate about human behaviors and always find myself wondering how amazingly different every human being is. To be honest I am kind of confused on what I like in the field of Technology. There is so much to choose from, so much to learn about, which makes me greedy and compels me to set foot in every domain. I think it is important to delve with what one feels fun to do. Therefore in short, I am someone who is keen and always looks out for different interactions and experiences present in IT. Previously I had worked as a Junior Backend Developer in a startup called NowNow, which is based in Nigeria. I had been a part of NowNow for 15 months. Having been given the opportunity of handling a major project of theirs called BUY-NOW-PAY-LATER (BNPL), I can proudly say that teamwork and resource management are one of my strong holds; not to forget about effective corporate communication and deadline handling. Currently I am studying my Masters in Computer Science at Unviersity of Bridgeport, Connecticut, USA. Along with my studies I am working under Asst. Prof. Deanna DiLuggo as a Graduate Assistant in an NSF Project. The project allows me to interact and understand the experiences of other GA\'s for a course. Therefore good listening skills and emotional intelligence play a major role in my work
