Rian Nichole Reed, MBA, NBCT, Ed.S, is an accomplished educator and entrepreneur passionate about empowering individuals through education, health, wealth and community safety. Her work reflects dedication to instructional excellence and equitable learning.A Penllyn, PA native, Rian was raised by James and Toni Reed. Recognized as Citizen of the Week, she\'ll be inducted into the Wissahickon High School Hall of Fame and appointed to DC\'s Chancellor Advisory Board in October 2024.With 14 years in K-12 education, Rian is a highly effective leader. As Director of Adult Learning at Kramer Middle School, she drove change, securing the OSSE Educator Wellness Grant, boosting staff retention and resources. Partnerships led to the 2022 NABSE National Demonstration School Award. She also managed 21st Century Community Learning Center and Pathways to Success Programs. Her expertise spans curriculum, assessment, and culturally responsive teaching; as a Literacy Coach, she improved students\' ANET reading scores and built teacher equity capacity. As a 2021 District Visions Fellow, she audited Secondary English Curriculum for cultural responsiveness.Rian is a sought-after speaker on education, presenting at Harvard\'s African American Alumni Conference and for the California Association of the Gifted. She led workshops on equity and teacher leadership. Her work has been featured in The Washington Post, The Washington Informer, The Georgetown Voice, and The Atlantic. She co-authored 2018\'s Snapshot in Education on teacher diversity. Featured on \"The I AM Dr. Sharon Show\" and \"EduMatch\" podcasts.Rian demonstrated exceptional community engagement and program development. She established Elevate Academy with UDC and The Mission Continues, introducing hydroponics and a community garden to Kramer Middle School, strengthening STEM and college/career readiness. Beyond K-12, Rian founded RianReed.com, hosts \"Reminisce the podcast,\" and curates \"Reminisce: The Empowered Lifestyle Magazine.\" She leads the #BlueCheckBookClub, focusing on wealth building and brand impact.Rian, a National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT), holds an MBA. She completed her Ed.S in Educational Leadership from George Washington University in May 2025. She is an active member of several professional organizations, including the DC Metro Chapter of Black Women\'s Education Alliance, National Council of Negro Women, Junior League of Washington, National Women of Achievement, and Top Ladies of Distinction.
