ABOUT RIAN THIBEAU

I am currently a Primary Counselor at NUWAY Intensive Outpatient Treatment in Minneapolis. I have a case load of 16 clients and lead group for them daily, while providing individual counseling and case management. I am very passionate about the clients I serve and helping them build a better life for themselves in recovery. I take advocating seriously and I use my voice to ask for change that may help those struggling with the disease of addiction. Providing trauma-informed and person-centered care is important to me, I look at each individual and consider their history and what they have been through. I have an understanding that every person\'s recovery may look different. I also contract for the Peer Recovery Center of Excellence helping to implement Peer Recovery services within different organizations. My experience as a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist Reciprocal has broadened my perspective of recovery and what that may look like for different individuals. I recently completed my Bachelors degree at Metropolitan State University and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 4.0 grade point average. I was also a finalist for the President\'s Outstanding Student Award, and was nominated by my professors. I will be continuing my education through Metropolitan State University and working on a Masters degree in Co-occurring Disorders Recovery Counseling.
