Working in the Procurement ESG Team and supporting the execution of the sustainability strategy at Nationwide, alongside Procurement, Strategy & Risk teams.• SME knowledge in upstream scope 3 and nature-related frameworks and tools. This is underpinned by creativity, problem-solving and data skills, and embedding and improving processes.Upstream Scope 3/Carbon accounting• Metric owner for upstream scope 3; responsible for methodology improvement, governance, data management and working to reduce supply chain emissions. Analyse the data and present trends to senior leaders. • Successfully taking the calculations from an external consultancy, to in-housing the process, with a view to integrate it into an internal system - delivering automation, beneficial for speed and assurance. • Transforming our supply chain emissions calculations by maximising inclusion of service-specific and product-level emissions data for several suppliers, which unlocks insight and new actions to decarbonise and meet our target.Nature• Using SME knowledge to lead on Nationwide’s first nature risk assessment for the supply chain, collaborating with the strategy team. Setting us up for success, by both establishing supplier expectations where there is risk, and meeting future disclosure requirements (TNFD).Data & Reporting• Leveraging PowerBI and Excel skills to newly set up and run monthly scorecard reporting, with enhanced automation, and several data sources, including EcoVadis. This showcases the team’s performance to multiple stakeholders.• Team player, providing data, checks, and narrative/proof-reading for TCFD, CDP and other disclosures. Supporting on tracking key contract schedules and due diligence activities.
