Earlier this month, I joined the Cairo International Center for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping and Peacebuilding as a research and Aswan Forum intern.Housed within Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is one of the leading regional institutions on peace and security in Africa and the Arab world. It operates at the intersection of policy, training, and action, serving as both a think tank and an implementing arm for initiatives on conflict prevention, peacekeeping, peacebuilding, and sustaining peace.I’ll be working closely with the team on preparations for the upcoming Aswan Forum V this October, a high-level platform that, in its previous edition, brought together heads of state, ministers, and thought leaders to reimagine peace, security, and development on the continent.Alongside this, I’m leading a research project of my own under the Center’s guidance, diving into the intersection of peacebuilding and the emerging global security landscape.Grateful to be part of an institution at the heart of shaping policy conversations that matter.
