ABOUT RIA KARVE
Hello! I\'m a current third-year student at UC Irvine, pursuing a degree in Cognitive Sciences with a minor in Hearing and Speech Sciences, interested in pursuing a career as a Physician Assistant. I\'m passionate about understanding how trauma, sleep, and lifestyle factors impact memory and cognitive decline across the lifespan. Through my work in the Cognitive Neuroscience of Sleep Lab, I’ve explored how trauma-related intrusions can be mitigated during sleep through the effects of targeted memory reactivation. I’m especially interested in how providers can use trauma-informed, evidence-based care to support patients facing cognitive or neurological challenges.
