ABOUT RIA DHUNNA
I’m a fourth-year Honours Bachelor of Science student at the University of Toronto, majoring in Human Biology and pursuing a career in medicine. Over time, I’ve developed a strong passion for family medicine because I believe family doctors play a crucial role as the first point of contact in a patient’s healthcare journey. I aspire to be a physician who listens with care, supports with knowledge, and helps people feel truly seen and understood.I’ve witnessed how access to quality healthcare can vary, especially within diverse communities, and I understand the challenges of navigating healthcare systems with limited guidance and support. This perspective has made me especially aware of the gaps that exist in our healthcare system and has shaped my commitment to advancing health equity. I’m dedicated to ensuring that all individuals, regardless of background, receive compassionate and culturally informed care.I lead with empathy, dedication, and purpose in everything I do. I’m currently seeking opportunities to expand my clinical and research experience, contribute meaningfully to my community, and continue growing into the physician I aspire to become.
