ABOUT RIA AL-AMEEN
Ria is an architect and heritage consultant at Giaimo, with a decade of experience in design and heritage conservation. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Canadian Association of Heritage Professionals (CAHP). Over the past eight years at Giaimo, she has overseen and contributed to countless design, restoration, and conservation projects from concept to completion. These projects include interior renovations and interventions for prestigious institutional buildings, as well as various heritage restoration, commemoration, and adaptive reuse projects across Ontario. Her recent projects include the Oculus Revitalization—recipient of the 2021 Lieutenant Governor’s Ontario Heritage Award for Excellence in Conservation—211 Yonge Street Renovations, 300 High St. Residential Infill, and Sunday School Lofts. Her background in academia, leadership in public art installation projects, and ongoing engagement with visual arts bring a creative and versatile perspective to her work.
