I am one of the six founding directors of the Robotics at Carnegie Mellon University. My field of expertise is Machine Perception (Hardware/Neural Artificial Intelligence). I led Seagate, and the entire disk drive industry, in implementing my self-encrypting drive technology. I resigned from CMU to do this at Seagate. Over a billion people a day use my drives today (see drivetrust.com). Most all automotive headlamps and taillamps in the world today are based on my inventions pertaining to perfectly realistic graphics developed as part of computation studies in how the brain computes models of the world. In Machine Learning and Computational Linguistics, I created some of the earliest advanced perceptron modelling systems in the late 1970s and 1980s.
