Trying to summarise so many years leading IT at the country\'s largest bioethanol refinery is difficult, but these are the 6 key outcomes I\'ve succeeded in delivering:1 - Leading operational, digital, data and cyber strategy in a complex, safety-critical organisation.2 - Modernising legacy environments and delivering major digital and data transformation programs across hybrid infrastructures, multiple domains, countries and business units.3 - Providing cyber security leadership with hands-on risk assessments, hardening and improvement plans and governance credibility (NIST, 27001, OG-86, 62443, CAF, PCI-DSS, Sovereign DP)4 - Safely delivering measurable value and results through innovative data, analytics and automation improvement programs balanced with a comprehensive GRC approach.5 - Leading with calm, credible leadership in high pressure situations and through difficult times.6 - Excellent financial accounting, budget and forecast management consistently reducing overhead costs and improving value.I\'ll be leaving in April when my final task will be to safely shut down and archive all the IT and OT systems as the plant is closed.So now all my team are all safely away to greater challenges and adventures outside of Vivergo its time to start looking for that next challenge for myself.

I am a technology leader with over 35 years of industrial experience designing, delivering and operating solutions in complex, safety critical environments. I work within a FTSE top 30 group company, leading technology strategy, cyber security and data and analytics for the UK’s largest top tier COMAH bioethanol production plant.I work with leadership to provide all aspects of technology, including operational technology, architecture, ERP and business continuity safely, effectively and without fuss.For the last 11 years, I have had the absolute privilege of working with some of the most tenacious and creative people I have ever met, in one of the most exciting organisations I have worked for. However, due to the closure of the Vivergo business unit, I will be leaving in 2026. I am currently open to Head of IT, CIO, IT Director, CISO, programme delivery or consultancy roles, on a permanent, interim or fractional basis.
