ABOUT RHIAN D.
As a student undertaking my master’s in Atlantic History and Politics at the University of Missouri, I am passionate about exploring the diverse and complex experiences of people and communities in the past. I have developed strong archival research skills, team work and time management skills through my academic projects and extracurricular activities. I am currently working as a teaching assistant at the University of Missouri. In this role, my main responsibilities include grading assignments and holding office hours. Previously, I have worked as a research assistant at Cardiff University, supporting an AHRC-funded project where I will help to understand the social and architectural history of British homes built in the 1920s and 1930s. I was also a volunteer research assistant for the Minority Ethnic History Research Guide at the Glamorgan Archives, a centralised place for sources on the histories of minority ethnic people in Wales. I also completed a UNIQ+ summer research internship at the University of Oxford, where I conducted research on the lived experiences of epilepsy in low to middle-income countries through oral history. I have contributed to multiple publications, digital outputs, and presentations as part of these research projects. I am eager to apply and develop my research skills and historical knowledge further.
