I am an advocate for students in all school related aspects. I serve my students as a mentor, confidant, mediator, and teacher (when necessary). I believe that the majority of students cannot learn in environments where they do NOT feel the person is genuinely interested in them.(Of course, there are always outliers in every situation.) Therefore, I believe in building relationships with my students & throughout my career I have been blessed with outstanding results. I am also grateful to be in contact with many of my former students & frequently get emails or messages with questions about college situations. Somehow they choose not to recognize that I was their HS Counselor & even when I mention this fact to them, they inform me that I am their Counselor, PERIOD! I truly love my students & hold them to high expectations. I’m NOT one who has an issue pulling a coattail when necessary and I let my students know upfront that I am a snitch. I have no issue involving parents, when appropriate and necessary. This has afforded me lasting relationships with many of my former parents as well. I have worn many hats throughout my career as an Educator; however, without a doubt, Counselor is my absolute favorite.
