Roger Filmyer is a skilled data scientist with a passion for uncovering insights and solving problems. Roger is adept at working with large datasets, creating polished data visualizations, and solving geographic problems. Roger is a recent graduate of New College of Florida’s innovative Data Science Master’s Program, where he worked on projects such as: a neural network-based language identification algorithm, a time series model of tropical weather events, and a Markov state model of patient outcomes using medical records data. Prior to returning to school, Roger worked at Turo as a data analyst. At Turo, Roger analyzed business problems such as search funnel conversion and Turo’s driver onboarding process, created new data sources for the Government Relations team, and monitored A/B tests for the product team. Roger earned his BA (International Studies and Economics) and MS (Data Science) from New College of Florida in Sarasota, FL.

   Continuing with the Bot Manager Premier (BMP) team, I drove several bot detection research initiatives, guided junior team members with machine learning-based product features, and served as an evangelist of in-house research and simulation tools to deal with the uniquely large and broad dataset that BMP offers.
