a) Overall responsibility for planning, implementation, management, and coordination of project operations and personnel in strict adherence to the project agreement.(b) Defining and guiding key strategy lines for implementation, in collaboration with the National Project Director. This includes overseeing the preparation and periodic updating of the project work plan.(c) Providing counsel on the recruitment/appointment of the national project team and managing the recruitment process for local consultants and support staff.(d) Coordinating and supervising the activities of the project staff, experts, and consultants constituting the technical assistance team.The role extends to the overall management of the project\'s execution within the National Beneficiary Government Agency (NBGA), encompassing:(a) Leading and efficiently managing the project team, ensuring adequate training, guidance, and coaching opportunities for all personnel.(b) Executing project activities in strict accordance with UN Financial Rules and Regulations, national requirements, and international standards, adhering to best practices in the trade facilitation and transport sector.Additionally, the position involves liaison responsibilities with other UN agencies and governmental organizations\'(OGA) activities:(a) Providing expert advice to stakeholders on functional and technical aspects of project implementation, ensuring their seamless integration into the overall operational environment.(b) Actively participating in meetings of a UN multi-agency nature and/or other international organizations on pertinent matters, such as security, safety, or the implementation of inter-agency frameworks, as deemed appropriate. This multifaceted role underscores the importance of effective leadership, adherence to regulatory standards, and collaborative engagement with diverse stakeholders to ensure the success of UNCTAD projects.
