About Reza Mahmoudi
Reza Mahmoudi is an applied operations research, transportation and data scientist. He holds a Ph.D. in Transportation Engineering from the University of Calgary and a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering (with a minor in Transportation Systems Management) from the Isfahan University of Technology. He previously served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Toronto and is currently a Senior Transportation Planner at GFT, based in the Columbus, Ohio office. His research has been published in top-tier journals and has received more than citations.Reza applies a broad set of data science methods, including statistical analysis, predictive modeling, mathematical programming, and machine learning, to deliver actionable insights and guide evidence-based decision-making. He has developed multiple decision-support tools that enhance operational efficiency and generate measurable cost savings across various industries.As a transportation planner, he specializes in public transit and microtransit planning, sustainable and smart mobility, access and equity analysis, corridor studies, long-range planning, and project management.
