Providing Employee Relations support and guidance by interacting with all Management levels of the company in a consultative role to identify, assess, evaluate, and resolve employee relation issues for a large-scale real estate investment trust operating in Southeast and Southwest United States. Provide guidance and consultation on managing performance and behavior, mediating conflict in the workplace, investigating and preparing recommendations including corrective actions and resolving complaints, applying and interpreting employment laws and policies, and maintaining positive relationships. Ensure compliance with various state and federal employment laws responding within required time frames to EEOC charges, unemployment compensation claims responses and appeals. Liaise between managers and legal council on EEOC charges or complaints. Ensure workplace issues are handled effectively and efficiently in order to remove barriers to successful job performance, minimize risk, and foster a positive work environment consistent with MAA’s Core Values. Work with multi-site regional vice presidents, senior vice presidents and property managers as intrinsic business partner for preventing and resolving problems involving associates or adverse situations that are impacting the property operations. Daily support in maintaining employer-employee relationships that contributes to productivity, motivation, and morale.
