Dr. Sawafta is the Chief Scientific Officer and Co-Founder of Phase Change Solutions, where he also serves on the board of directors. In his role, he oversees myriad of business functions, keeps abreast of new developments in science and technology, devotes attention to the complexities of innovation and product development, and continues to apply his innate drive and ambition to foster a bright and prosperous future for Phase Change Solutions. Before co-founding Phase Change Solutions, he held various positions of increasing responsibility in academia and private industry. Dr. Sawafta has served on numerous national and international advisory committees and boards, and has received many prestigious awards. His expertise includes nuclear physics, quantum physics, smart materials, phase change technology, energy storage and management, antimicrobial technology, water, polymers, biotechnology, and nanotechnology. Dr. Sawafta obtained his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Quantum Physics and Nuclear Physics, in 1984 and 1986, respectively, from the University of Alberta, Canada. Dr. Sawafta is an inventor on numerous patents and patent applications; he has authored more than 150 scientific papers and has presented more than 200 invited talks worldwide.
