Rex earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in architecture from the University of Idaho, with a minor in art. He spent eight years in Seattle, where he built a strong foundation in sustainability, integrated design, and biophilic principles. After the birth of their first child, Rex and his family returned to Eastern Washington and founded Fusion Architecture in 2013.Rex is licensed to practice architecture in Washington, Idaho, Montana, Arizona, Hawaii, and New York. He has been a LEED Accredited Professional since 2004 and added the Building Design +Construction (BD+C) credential in 2012, reflecting a career-long commitment to environmentally responsible and integrated design. He also serves as Washington’s representative to the AIA Small Firm Exchange, a national group of practitioners who meet regularly to advance best practices, resources, and advocacy for small architecture offices across the country.His work embodies Fusion’s mission: ideas transformed into built form that serve both people and purpose. Outside the studio, Rex enjoys life with his wife and two amazing daughters. An avid endurance athlete, he has completed eight 70.3 Ironman races and two full Ironman races.
