About John Cooper
I am the Executive Director of the Niagara Gospel Mission, Ordained Baptist Pastor, Seminary Student, Author, and Army Veteran.I am an Army veteran and I have done ministry as a volunteer throughout my service. I have ministry experience in New York, Pennsylvania, Hawaii, and Afghanistan.I served 6 years as an Infantryman in the United States Army with one deployment to Afghanistan. I spent most of my career as a Sniper and achieved the rank of Sergeant. I served in multiple Leadership positions in the Infantry: Senior Sniper, Anti-Armor Section Leader, Head Quarters Platoon Sergeant, QRF Squad Leader, and Sniper Section Leader.In ministry, I have served in the homeless ministry, military ministry, preaching, developmentally disabled persons, children, small groups, parish council, elder boards, and other leadership roles. I am currently in full-time ministry at the Niagara Gospel Mission serving as the Executive DIrector.As a veteran I continue to serve the veteran and military community through specific programs to homeless veterans. I also authored the Warfighter’s Catechism with Wrath and Grace Ministries. I am the host of the Godly Grunts Podcast which covers how God’s Word impacts the military life.I am currently working on my Masters of Arts in Christian Leadership at Liberty University. I have a bachelor\'s degree in Pastoral Ministry from Clark\'s Summit University. While at the university I was captain of the baseball and wrestling teams.I am from Niagara Falls NY. I enjoy the outdoors and all the things living in the North East has to offer. My hobbies are golf, outdoors, hockey, skiing, archery, and shooting. I am married and have four young children.
