ABOUT REUBEN JOHN

To have a unique perspective, you sometimes need a unique journey. I moved around a lot when I was young, and lived both in India and the US. This has helped me become more culturally sensitive and build relationships with people from varied backgrounds. I was involved in music and the arts in school, however, my favorite subject in high school was computer science. I studied Philosophy and Theology for several years and graduated with my MBA. This diversified educational background helps me think deeply regarding the “why” but also think strategically regarding how to achieve the end goal. Since graduating with my MBA in 2017, I have been working as a Data Analyst both in higher education and construction management. Some of my work includes- Leading a data strategy initiative for my clients in a large tech company that improved their ability to develop tools and have access to data - Developing complex dashboards using SQL and Tableau that were vital for various teams’ day-to-day functions- Improving complex SQL scripts used for business-critical purposes by reducing complexity, improving maintainability, and eliminating bugs- Project managing the development of various web applications - Managing various stakeholders and acting as a liaison between technical and non-technical teamsOver the years I loved building tools that empower teams and enable them to do their work more productively and efficiently. Therefore to improve my technical skills, I enrolled in a software Bootcamp called Coding Dojo to become a full-stack web developer. I graduated in March of 2022 and developed full-stack web apps using Javascript and Python frameworks.My goal is to combine both software development and data analysis to develop tools that empower people’s work.
