About Reshma Chandrasekar
As a dedicated and passionate Aeronautics and Astronautics Master\'s student at Purdue University, I am driven by a commitment to innovation and optimisation in Aircraft design. Currently, as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Purdue University, I impart knowledge and foster a collaborative learning environment for students in Aeromechanics. My role involves teaching bi-weekly labs, grading assignments, and providing comprehensive feedback to enhance student understanding and performance. My hands-on experience includes leading an Aerodynamics team to achieve top ranks in global competitions like SAE International AeroDesign. I have designed and optimized various aircraft configurations, including conventional designs, Blended Wing Bodies, Prandtl wings, and Flying wings, for specific mission requirements. Notably, I led the development of a Lifting body aircraft optimized for efficient delivery of payloads, showcasing my ability to innovate and iterate for optimal design solutions. Beyond academia, I am actively involved in the Women In Engineering (WiE) Program, where I collaborate with a leadership team to organize workshops and symposiums that promote networking and professional growth for women engineers. My current research focuses on UAV development for agricultural applications and the effectiveness of assistive technologies in airport navigation, reflecting my diverse interests and commitment to solving real-world problems. Proficient in multiple programming languages and software tools, including C/C++, MATLAB, Python, SOLIDWORKS, CATIA, and ANSYS, I am equipped with the technical skills necessary to excel in the aerospace industry. My professional experience, including an internship at Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, has further honed my skills in aircraft design, manufacturing processes, and systems engineering. I am passionate about bringing creativity and innovation to aircraft design and airport planning, striving for efficiency through iterative processes to achieve optimized results. Looking forward to contributing to more such experiences where I can leverage and expand my skills and knowledge.
