ABOUT RESHMA NARGUND
As a Doctoral Candidate at the Nicholas School of the Environment, my research focuses on how prenatal exposure to environmental adversity impacts newborn health. Specifically, I investigate the effects of air pollution on gene expression in newborns, exploring the interplay between particulate matter and temperature exposure during pregnancy and their influence on DNA methylation patterns. Utilizing advanced statistical models, I analyze 850k Epic BeadChip data to assess these epigenetic changes while accounting for the financial and psychological stress experienced by mothers.
