About Joaquin Alejandro Basauri
Brooklyn-based UX Researcher currently working with Sony Music Entertainment\'s Go-To-Market TeamBorn and raised in South San Diego, less than five minutes from the busiest border crossing in the world, I quickly learned the importance of having empathy for all people and using their stories to paint a more accurate picture of the world. After nearly a decade of working in journalism and then beer production, I made the decision to move into UX Research where I could use that empathic nature and my natural curiosity to make a positive impact on people\'s everyday lives.As a Mexican, bilingual, first-generation college student, I want my unique background and atypical journey to serve as an opportunity to represent diverse users who don’t traditionally get a voice to be heard. I strive to utilize those generational experiences in tandem with my experience in advocacy, administration, production management, and people management to effect change at many levels while uncovering insights into complex and ambiguous product questions and collaborating to foster a culture of equitable research and iterative design.
