ABOUT RENUKA GAMAGE

Renuka combines skills and knowledge from her highly diverse career of 35+ years including her research on new venture scale-ups and organizational leadership in support of new business owners and corporate clients. She has worked in multicultural environments, in Sri Lanka, Dubai, and Canada. Liaised with a variety of project stakeholders, contractors, and consultants, Renuka can help management teams increase their performance and impact. Starting her career as an engineer, she transitioned along a career path from corporate training, project management, bids/proposals management, teaching & facilitation to researching and consulting. Her technical experience expands into the areas of Data Communication, Structured Cabling, Fiber Optics, and Electronic Security Systems. She moved on to Technical & Vocational Education and Training (TVET), Educational Technologies, and Research and Innovation. Credentialed with PMP, Business Data Analytics, Value Engineering, and Change Management certifications, she holds a Master of Applied Science in technology innovation management engineering and an MBA. She achieved IEng designation with an extensive engineering career followed by National Diploma in electronics & Telecommunications engineering technology. She also holds diplomas in training & development, instructional skills for technical trainers (TVET), and AI Business Strategy & Applications. Giving back to the community, Renuka has volunteered her skills and knowledge generously and was awarded the ‘Best Volunteer in a Professional Field’ at the VOscars 2014 by Volunteer Ottawa. This award is given to individuals who have dedicated their professional skills to volunteer endeavors and setting inspiring examples for the community. Renuka volunteered in assistive technology, maths, and Junior achievement facilitator/company adviser roles at in Ottawa Network for Education (ONFE). She also volunteered at Community Cup, United Way-Speakers’ Bureau, WUSC, Zonta, and PMI. Currently, she serves as the VP at Zonta Club of Ottawa, and leads Zonta JMK Women in Business Scholarship. She mentors newcomers to Canada through local service agencies and is a business mentor at Scotia Bank Women Initiative. Known as a conscientious, trustworthy person with strong analytical skills, and attention to detail, a diligent professional with proven planning, organization, and leadership skills, Renuka believes that ongoing and self-motivated learning is a process of broadening. She makes every attempt in sharing of knowledge-gained, that can help others achieve their goals.
