About Rennette Brown

I am an entrepreneur who is gifted and trained as an educator. I love being in the classroom inspiring young minds to PUSH beyond their limits and circumstances to be all of what they are created to be. I specialize in mentoring new teachers especially in Classroom Management and providing opportunities to my scholars through College Access Programs and real world careers within the classroom setting.I enjoy teaching in whatever arena I am whether its an English classroom, a financial class or in the music arenaI\'ve been blessed to coach Speech and Debate at Jack Yates High School where my scholars have done to the HUDL National Debate, the Texas UIL CX State Debate and the Texas UIL Regional Meets in Extemp Speaking, Ready Writing, Journalism, and Lincoln Douglas Debate.My ultimate goal is to build my businesses to a capacity where I am able to retire and FREELY teach scholars on the high school level and college level without the constraints of \"teaching to the test.\" I love a great challenge and I\'m excited about being part of a team that brings things to life! I look forward to the day when I can perform on stage again at The Ensemble Theatre and other places as well as recording a CD of my favorite hymns and other music that I am writing and as well as leaving a legacy for my family.

English Department Chairperson (12 members) and I am the Campus Induction Coach for Beginning Teachers and their mentors (20••••17) as well as a mentor to individual teachers school years,(20••••17). I have served on the School Decision Making Committee (SDMC) since 20••••16 and I served on the PAT committee for the building of the new Jack Yates High School. I have been the Debate Coach since the 20••••20school year and the UIL Coordinator Spring 20••••20 and I am a founding sponsor for the Jack Yates Young Women of Excellence. I served HISD as a Key Teacher 20••••14 school year and I have served as a trainer for the district through the Houston Federation of Teachers Education, Research and Dissemination Department specifically as a classroom management facilitator. I served as the President of the HoustonISD #GreatAllOver Toastmasters Club where I am a charter member and have served as the club\'s secretary from July 2014-January 2017.
