Specialists in venture capital for climate, cleantech and circular economy SME growth. Sell-side: private placement funding (brokerage) for venture equity, venture debt, asset and project finance. Buy side: Fund II in progress (The Greenbackers Cleantech Fund). We work with entrepreneurs in UK/Western Europe, over funders globally and run a Pitch invitational twice-yearly in London to bring these two groups together to do deals.We scout for and support high quality, qualified investment propositions and work with a broad base of funders: Venture Capital Firms, Corporate Venture Funds, Impact Investors, Business Angels Syndicates, Family Offices and UHNWI’s. UK, Scottish and Welsh Government origination and match funds are available and we work with a number of specialist debt and asset finance providers

I am a board member of the UK Marine Energy Council, a registered Expert with the European Commission, a member of the FTech2Zero working Group, a member of the expert panel advising the EU on its new Innovation Fund, a member of the United Nations\' Sustainable Blue Finance Initiative a member of the World Ocean Council and Ocean Energy Europe, an assessor for the Solar Impulse Foundation’s Solutions program and a Global Scot.I previously ran the £103m Renewable Energy Investment Fund by Scottish Investment Bank (SIB), was Head of Investment for DP Energy, co founded Greenbackers Investment Capital, and founded the Deja Blue consultancy. At SIB invested into the wave and tidal sector including ground breaking, and still world leading, investments into the MeyGen tidal project, Orbital Marine and Nova Innovation amongst others. I am intimately involved on a daily basis, with the emerging marine energy sector, including engagements with offshore operators, oil and gas and off shore wind as they seek to find ways of decarbonising and electrifying.The use cases of and for marine energy are part of my daily work.
