ABOUT RENEE LAFORET

I\'ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.\" This timeless quote by Maya Angelou is the guiding principle in my journey as a transformation and technology executive, coach, mentor, board director and speaker. As a senior technology leader, I have helped individuals at all levels achieve excellence and drive positive outcomes including lessons learned. Examples include leading large teams delivering enterprise solutions and initiatives in my former C-suite roles as Interim Chief Technology Officer and Deputy CTO for the City of Toronto and as a Chief Information Officer serving five ministries in the province. This transformation mandate continues to be close to my heart as the Senior Vice President of Transformation for Infrastructure Ontario. Helping people grow and thrive in their lives and careers inspired my launch of Energize to Actualize in my personal time. My coaching services help individuals reach their potential with more energy, ease, and impact. In short, learning to \"Chill the F* Out\" on their path to success However, please don’t jump to conclusions. The “F” is not what you think! It’s about getting through Fear so you can thrive. My services include a unique blend of mindset and results-based coaching with trauma-informed somatic approaches that deepen the transformation. You have more power than you think to create a life and career that you love. I have been invited to share my story at various speaking engagements. A core part of my story was being \"an only\" at the leadership table in several of my roles. As a result, I am deeply committed to mentoring and sponsoring women, as well as youth, to help them overcome limiting beliefs, and barriers to excel on their chosen path. I have supported programs like the Girls eMentorship Program and the Black Professionals in Technology Network. I am also a board member for ThriveYouth, a charity helping young people overcome barriers through arts-based leadership programs. Finally, I joined the board of the Obsidian Theatre and completed the Executive Board Readiness Program at the Ted Rogers School of Management.
