I am delighted to be back working as a senior regulatory analyst for the state agency leading the nation and world in green energy policies, the California Public Utilities Commission. It is the culmination of my career to be bringing my extensive private sector experience and knowledge to bear on some of the most difficult and challenging public policy issues of our time. My early career as a staffer at the California Energy Commission in the Energy Efficiency Division, overseeing load management and transportation energy efficiency programs, and then as a Commissioner of the Nevada Public Utilities Commission writing Nevada\'s first Integrated Resource Planning regulations, have also been foundational to my understanding of how regulated utilities are governed and are motivated. My work now in the gas reliability section is perhaps the most challenging and rewarding of my entire career, as we struggle to find ways to decrease our reliance on natural gas, which underpins California\'s electricity generation system in summer and heats millions of home in winter. I am honored to be among some of the brightest and most devoted public servants I have ever worked with - and always excited by the challenges ahead!
