With a practice focused on civil litigation and administrative law, I regularly represent health care professionals in proceedings before regulatory bodies and other administrative tribunals and defend them in civil lawsuits. I also act as Independent Legal Counsel for the Discipline Committee and the Fitness to Practice Committees of other provincial regulators (non-health sector).I have represented numerous health organizations and a wide range of professionals (chiropodists, dental hygienists, dentists, geneticists, medical laboratory technologists, medical radiation technologists, naturopaths, nurses, occupational therapists, optometrists, paramedics, pharmacists, physiotherapists, psychiatrists, psychotherapists, respiratory technologists and social workers) in the defence of professional liability claims, in complaint and disciplinary proceedings, in Coroner’s investigations and inquests, Ministry of Health and Long Term Care investigations and at Consent and Capacity Board hearings.In addition to regulatory work, I have a broad defence litigation practice which includes complex personal injury and product liability litigation, commercial and social host liability claims, property damage litigation, professional liability litigation (paralegals, engineers, construction industry workers, home inspectors, brokers and agents, financial services professionals, corporate directors and officers in addition to health care professionals). I have given numerous presentations at seminars and conferences for health and insurance industry clients, professional associations and the legal community. I am fluent in French and enjoy advocacy in both official languages.
