Professor René Ordoñez has been a member of the faculty of the SOU School of Business since 1987. He served as the Department Chair from 2004 to 2011. Currently, he teaches Applied Business Statistics, and Operations Management at Southern Oregon University, School of Business\' undergraduate business program, Strategic Operations Management in the MBA Program, Practical Research, and Capstone in the Masters in Management Program. Past courses he taught include Introduction to Management Science, Applied Business Research, and Business Planning. In 2001, he spent 5 months in the Philippines, where he taught at the College of Commerce of the Ateneo de Naga University, as part of his sabbatical. In summer 2010, 2012, and 2013, he taught at the Copenhagen Business School in Denmark. He also taught Practical Research and Capstone for the Masters in Management program at the University of Guanajuato, MexicoRene was born and raised in the Philippines. His academic credentials include: a Bachelor of Arts degree, major in Economics, from the University of the Philippines (1982); an MBA (management) from the University of Akron (1987); and Doctor of Philosophy in Management Science (with Academic Distinction) from Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago (1997).His research interest is in the use of technology in pedagogy. Since he has been actively involved in the design, development, and implementation of course curricula that incorporate technology in the classroom as well as in the delivery of course content.
