ABOUT RENATA M. ARCHIE
Renata Archie, Ed.D, serves as a contributing faculty member at Mount St. Joseph University. Within the Reading Science Program, she provides instruction across the graduate spectrum, including the Master’s and Doctoral programs. She also works as a part of a superintendent’s team supporting a portfolio of NYC public schools, school administrators, and teachers with evidence-based literacy practices, assessment systems, data analysis, intervention, and strengthening teaming practices. With 27 years in education, Renata dedicated much of her career to early learners as a Kindergarten teacher and K-2 instructional coach. Renata has functioned as a new teacher mentor, model teacher, and was a regular content contributor/host of the WNET/PBS Education television program “Let’s Learn NYC”. She has also been featured on two episodes of Reading Road Trip, an International Dyslexia Foundation Ontario podcast. Renata works as a literacy consultant and is the founder of RMA Solutions LLC. Her projects as a consultant are related to state-level capacity building, co-authorship of screener/MTSS guidance documents, and providing support and professional learning on topics related to universal screening, data-based decision-making, and MTSS. Renata holds a B.A. in African Diasporic Studies, an M.A. in Early Childhood & Elementary Education, and an M.S.Ed in Educational Leadership & Administration. She received her doctorate with a concentration in reading science at Mount St. Joseph University. Renata is passionate about all things MTSS and especially the use of evidence-based decision-making to improve K-2 literacy outcomes.
