In my current role as Chief People Officer at ABIS, I proudly oversee the heartbeat of our organization by managing vital business functions, including Human Resources, Finance, and IT. One of my key responsibilities is to facilitate strategic initiatives that ensure our key performance indicators align seamlessly with our overarching organizational goals.Working closely with C-Suite executives, I’ve played an integral part in orchestrating major events like the Champions & Legends Weekend and the Professional Development Series. These initiatives not only highlight our commitment to the community but also elevate the presence of Blacks in sports.Additionally, I direct the preparation of our budget and the allocation of grants, taking pride in ensuring our financial integrity. As a result, we can effectively drive membership growth and enhance community engagement through partnerships with external stakeholders.I also focus on the employee life cycle of staff and temporary employees by developing clear job descriptions, designing onboarding program, and managing contracts for both staff and consultants, which contributes to seamless operations across departments. Ensures our culture is one of respect and inclusiveness. My aim is to foster an environment that thrives on collaboration and innovation, ultimately propelling our mission forward.Some key achievements in this role include:• Streamlined key performance indicators with the launch of Brand U Academy, improving membership communication efficiency by 10%.• Prepared budgets and managed in grant allocations, implementing strategies to grow membership by 15% by June 2025.• Implemented a Board recruitment strategy for the 20••••26 cycle, leading to a 4% increase in self-nominations.• Implemented the first on-boarding program for staff, temporary employees, contractors, and Board members.
