Assistant Principal leading in Whole School Teaching Learning - staff CPD. I work with the wider T&L team (DHT and AHTs) working to drive forward the quality of teaching and learning in the school. I support with the professional development of staff, improving classroom practice and pedagogy. I\'ve been working towards codifying practice through The Bow Playbook and also building a culture of evidence-based practice through bi-weekly T&L bulletins, research led CPD and celebrating Excellent Practice in bi-weekly briefings. ABOUT RENA BEGUM
An experienced educator I am currently serving as Assistant Principal at Bow School in Tower Hamlets. Previous to that I worked for 16 years at a Greenwich school, which became part of a Nation wide Trust. I began my career as an NQT and progressively took on leadership roles, including Director of English and Assistant Head. In my current role as Assistant Head, I focus on improving teaching and learning strategies and providing support for teachers to enhance their practices. I line manage a pastoral Year team and a Subject area. In my career so far I have demonstrated strong leadership in managing key areas such as literacy and EAL support, and I have been instrumental in the professional development of staff through targeted coaching and CPD programs. My contributions include driving departmental improvement plans and fostering collaboration among teachers to elevate academic standards across the school. I also am committed to supporting the educational sector in Newham and volunteer as Chair of Governors for a Primary school (part of a Trust).With a commitment to educational excellence, I aim to inspire both students and colleagues, ensuring a positive impact on our school community.
