What do you picture when you think of sales? A scene from Glengarry Glen Ross? The Wolf of Wall Street? The Office? That was certainly my impression. Being a salesperson was probably second last on my list, one above being a dentist who nobody seems to like. I wanted to be an engineer and a problem solver. I also knew I had Hollywood to thank for my impression. When an \"try it\" sales role opportunity came up, my desire to learn and find out for myself kicked in, and I thought I had nothing to lose. At worst I would pick up some useful skills that will contribute to my career and I get to prove myself right that sales is not for me. I proved myself wrong. Sales to me is about understanding people and organization\'s challenges, obstacles they face, the results and goals they desire. Sales is about connecting the right resources to meet what is important to the people I work with. Turns out I am still an engineer and a problem-solver. I also connect roadblocks with solutions, I am your biggest advocate within my organization. I help Fortune 500 companies solve their biggest challenges and aspiring startups realize their dreams.
