28+ years in the insurance industry, mostly in the Major Accounts Multinational programs structuring and Alternative Risk Transfer areas (structured insurance programs where the insured participates in self-insuring part of the risk, for example via the use of its own reinsurance company (a ‘captive’)). Prior to my current position, my career has principally been with AIG-Chartis and can be summarized in 3 main stages, in 3 different cities: Brussels where in an entrepreneurial role I had a business creation and development function in the field of captive fronting; New York where I designed insurance programs using financial engineering structures; Paris where I had Management responsibilities, first as a collaborator to the Continental Europe President, and as Manager for Continental Europe of the business unit in charge of captive fronting programs.My competencies and my preferences relate to 2 broad areas : people management and relationship building, where I can share and transmit my expertise internally as well as convince and sell externally; construction of solutions for complex situations where I can use my analytical and listening skills within a multidisciplinary environment.Specialties: Expertise in Multinational Programme structuring and implementationExpertise in structured insurance programs (e.g. captive reinsurance)Managerial skills, in terms of team mobilization and operational organization Business development, in terms of launching a Business Unit and client relationships
