About Remo Cocco
I currently work as a Software Development Engineer at Blue Origin in the Enterprise Technology Department! Previously, I worked for Amazon from 2012 to 2023, and focused on designing and building web-scale services. During this tenure I worked on the launch team for AWS CodePipeline, the distributed data platform for Retail and Prime Video\'s personalization experiences, and on the Retail marketing platform. I was awarded the Patent 11••••29 for my work as the tech lead launching a distributed read-only database. I also have a deep experience with recruiting and hiring, serving as a Bar Raiser on 500+ interview loops, and having built 2 award-winning internal products for our recruiting platform. This work earned me the company-wide Just-Do-It award, presented by Jeff Bezos to employees who exemplify the company\'s core values of innovation and bias for action. I have a Masters of Science (Computer Science) and a Bachelor of Science (Computer Science) from Rowan University. During college I held a part-time position at as an Application Developer at Mission Solutions Engineering as part of the Radar Control Programs. I published 6 peer-reviewed papers in the fields of Computer Networking, Educational Serious Computer Games, and Radar Scheduling Algorithmic Performance.Outside of work, I am Deputy Director of Mount Rainier Nordic Patrol and enjoy spending my time recreationally skiing, mountain biking, rock climbing, and paddleboarding. I own a ford transit camper van and love to travel to enjoy these hobbies throughout the beautiful mountain west.
