ABOUT DAVID GIBBONS

I am an Advanced and First Contact Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapist. Physiotherapy, acupuncture, manual therapy, manipulation, sports therapy, arthritis care, elderly care, post-surgical rehabilitation & sports rehabilitation are offered from my clinic base in Southport. As the Director & Practice Principal, I have been training and working in physiotherapy for 30 years and have an excellent training background from 8 years in the NHS. I am highly trained at Masters Level, with membership of the elite \"MACP\"- Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists. I am also a fully registered MAACP acupuncturist, a member of The Health & Care Professions Council MHCPC and The CSP, PPA, ARSM ACPOHE and ACPOMIT. I am committed to lifelong learning and continuing professional development and incorporate an evidence base into my clinical diagnoses and treatment plans. The main emphasis and difference with the practice is that treatment consists, in the most part, of manual therapy to help get tight or stiff body parts moving again, which are invariably the cause of the presenting pains. This is something that medication and machines alone can not do. The cause of the pain is removed and not just the symptoms. I have trained with dual qualified consultant physiotherapists/osteopaths and received excellent manual therapy grounding from Sheffield Hallam University and St Helens & Knowsley NHS Trust. The clinic delivers comprehensive physiotherapy services to insurance clients, commercial intermediaries, occupational health departments in industry, consultants, GP\'s as well as the local population. I am actively searching for an increase in referral numbers at the moment. I have served my time in the NHS (8 years), with excellent physiotherapy, management and professional training in the NHS. I was also involved in specialist training in Spinal and Shoulder consultant clinics and with pain management. I have a holistic and biopsychosocial approach to assessment and treatment for all my clients.
