About Reilley Keane

I am a partner with Banner Witcoff, based in Raleigh, NC. My practice includes a wide variety of intellectual property matters including patent prosecution, client counseling, post-grant proceedings, and patent litigation, with an emphasis on patent procurement and counseling in artificial intelligence/machine learning, fintech, e-commerce, and software related technologies for both domestic and international clients. Notably, my experience includes an in-house secondment with a client in the e-commerce space, as well as resident stints at several London-based IP firms. My involvement in legal/technical organizations includes co-chairing the § 101 (Patent Eligibility) Subcommittee of the American Intellectual Property Law Association, co-chairing the IP Section Annual Meeting for the NC Bar Association, and serving on the Board of Advisors for NC Tech. I was selected for inclusion in the 2026 edition of The Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America® through peer review and nomination, am admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and am a member of the North Carolina, Virginia, and District of Columbia Bars. I am a graduate of the George Washington University Law School, and received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, with a minor in Economics, from Villanova University. Prior to beginning my career in intellectual property, I worked in both energy strategy and construction litigation at a global consulting firm, and as an electrical engineer at a nuclear power plant. Outside of the office, I compete in endurance off-road cycling events, host multi-day bikepacking adventures, toil with my golf swing, and cheer for my Villanova Wildcats.
