About Rei Tedoco

Hello! I’m a junior at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University, where I’m building a career centered on community storytelling, broadcast reporting, and the impact of sports and culture. I serve as the Vice President of Services for Undergraduate Student Government Downtown, work as a Cronkite Ambassador, and lead The Flare TV, a platform I founded to uplift first-generation students and students of color through creative, culturally grounded coverage. My experiences span major reporting events and interviews with public figures. A Columbus, Ohio native, I graduated from Gahanna Lincoln High School, where I was Executive Producer of the award-winning Lincoln Live TV program and was inducted into the Student Hall of Fame. As a proud first-generation college student, I’m guided by a deep passion for representation, community connection, and storytelling that makes people feel seen. I aspire to become a community broadcast reporter who uplifts local voices and highlights the stories that bring us closer together.

   Undergraduate Student Government Downtown

   May 2025 — Present · Phoenix, AZ, US

   As the incoming Vice President of Services for Undergraduate Student Government Downtown, I will collaborate across departments—including appropriations, communications, and student engagement—to enhance student resources and experiences. I plan to strengthen partnerships with Phoenix-area businesses and multicultural chambers of commerce, and will continue to build relationships with companies like Waymo, Uber, Monster Energy, and the Arizona Cardinals. I will also work closely with ASU Career Services, the Global Education Office, and TRiO to expand access to career opportunities, global learning, and student support programs.
