Deliver essential infrastructure services with respect to data protection by monitoring overall health including daily backup jobs and backup targets, remediating issues, perform recovery of files for fileservers, databases, and virtual machines within the predefined business timelines for regular operations and disaster recovery.• Oversee the backup and recovery for several thousand physical and virtual servers located across multiple datacenters totaling 30+ PB through CommVault, various Dell EMC, and NetApp storage arrays• Successfully lead and implemented Multi-factor Authentication project within CommVault backup environment to improve cybersecurity posture• Provide data protection services to a wide portfolio of applications hosted primarily on VMware vCenter, Windows Server, SQL Server, and Oracle databases• Migrated provincial Netcare Health Records System totaling several hundred TB over from HPUX to RHEL• Identified misconfigured backups, reclaimed several hundred TB of storage space, and saved tens of thousands of dollars in CAPEX costs for the company• Implemented a seamless transition of backup infrastructure by migrating several hundred terabytes of data from Veeam to Commvault, ensuring data integrity, system reliability, and efficient data management.Technologies: CommVault, NetApp, Dell EMC Unity, Data Domain, Isilon, VMWare, Intellisnap, Veeam
