ABOUT REHAAN VIRANI

I\'m a fourth-year Finance student at Huron University College with a passion for solving real business problems through data, technology, and smart processes. With 1.5+ years of experience in cost analysis and planning, I’ve learned how to ask the right questions, build efficient systems, and contribute to projects where accuracy and clarity are critical. Whether I’m building dashboards in Power BI, writing Python scripts, or developing forecasting models in Excel, I find purpose in uncovering insights that drive meaningful results. At Hydro One, I support large-scale energy transmission projects by preparing monthly financial reports, building cost baselines, and monitoring project performance. One of my key contributions was designing a data pipeline to transform SAP cost data into Power BI using Python and Power Query, reducing reporting time and eliminating manual errors across 250+ projects. Beyond the numbers, I’ve learned how to communicate clearly with engineering teams, senior analysts, and leadership to ensure alignment at every stage of a project. During my time at Youth Opportunities Unlimited, I took on process improvement initiatives; streamlining document management through SharePoint, automating approval workflows with Power Automate, and contributing to capital project budgeting efforts. Each role has given me a new lens through which to understand how financial data can support operational efficiency and long-term planning. Now, I\'m looking to grow in roles where finance, data, and strategy come together while learning from professionals who are passionate about innovation. I’m always up for the next challenge and excited to see where this journey leads.
