ABOUT REGINALD REGGIE SMITHERMAN
I was born into and raised in the steel storage tank industry. At 14, I started as a helper in my father’s tank fabrication shop. From that point on, I progressed to fitter, welder, and every position in the shop. Because we were a small family owned business, I had to learn all aspects of the business. This included Shop Foreman, Field Foreman, Cad Operator, Purchasing, Estimating, and eventually, I worked my way up to Vice President of the company.In 2008, due to the financial crisis, I was forced to make an unexpected change, and I was hired on at my current position. I was fortunate though to have gained so much experience with my father\'s company. Since taking on my current role, it has helped me build and expand on that experience. I was hired as an Estimator, then moved up to Assistant Project Manager, International Project Manager, and now, Project Manager/Chief Estimator/Sales and Marketing.I am proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office. I am experienced in Design of API 650, 620, 12F and 625 tanks & structures, and repairing of tanks according to API-653.I am definitely lucky that I get to do what I enjoy.
