My approach to recruiting Adult Learners is a tiered plan based on the type of Adult Learner. Non-Traditional GED Students - My platform is “From GED to Degree” This is a college information Session that I take on the road. The complete Admission process is covered: Application, Testing, Advising, and a brief Review of Financial Aid. I visit GED testing sites and arrange a special day for these students along with their instructors to come to campus for a tour and conversation with representatives from Cincinnati State. Adult Learner Workshops – Every semester I host a FREE Adult Learner Workshop (ALW) on the Main Campus of Cincinnati State. Each Semester there is a different theme to these workshops with a different focus supported by research I have done. Adult Learner Workshops are not only geared towards First Time/Returning College students, but those students who have degrees and seek to broaden their knowledge base. Work Force Development Center – There is a branch of Cincinnati State, like most Community Colleges, called Work Force Development (WDC). While this division is a part of the college, their student enrollment is NOT counted towards CState’s student enrollment numbers. A collaboration exists to encourage WDC student to become matriculated Cincinnati State student. Corporate Contacts/Human Resources – Actively participate in Education/Resource/Benefit Fairs at local companies! From TriHealth Health Systems to the Horseshoe Casino - Education/Benefit/Resource Fairs happen throughout the year that produce all levels of prospective students.

I have over 20 years of experience at Cincinnati State - Health Excel Services and as Adjunct Faculty member in the Health Division.Many Adult Learners are acquiring new skills, retraining for a new career, or updating their knowledge by taking advantage of Cincinnati State\'s flexible scheduling and competitive tuition. Cincinnati State is a great option to those Adults who are currently in the work force. Cincinnati State has over 130 Degrees and Certificates available to enhance work skills and advance careers. I work with Human Resources Directors and Managers to bring information about Cincinnati State to their employees.As the Manager of Cincinnati State Student Ambassadors, I provide Student Ambassadors with unique training opportunities in: Leadership, Public Speaking, and Project Management. In addition Cincinnati State Student Ambassadors participate in community outreach events.
