ABOUT REGINA CAZZAMATTA
DFG Project Leader entitled “Disinformation Context and the Emergence of Fact-Checking Organisations in Europe and Latin America.” Dr. Cazzamatta obtained her Ph.D. in media and communication studies at the University of Erfurt, where she teaches in the English-language master’s program MA Global Communication: Politics & Society. Currently, she is temporarily a principal investigator funded by the German Research Council (DFG). The scholar has an international background of academic and journalistic experience. She graduated in Communication Studies in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and had a post-graduation in International Journalism from the Pontifical Catholic University of Sao Paolo. Author of the books – ‘Brasilien-Berichterstattung in der deutschen Presse’ and ‘Lateinamerikaberichterstattung der deutschen Presse: Struktur und Entstehungsbedingungen’ – her research interests include comparing media systems, disinformation, fact-checking, media discourse, news value approaches and international news coverage.
