   As the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) at a charter school network (35 schools across 7 states), I am responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing strategies and initiatives that promote a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment across the network. My role involves working closely with school leaders, staff, students, and the community to ensure that DEI principles are integrated into all aspects of the organization\'s operations. Design and deliver DEI training programs for staff, faculty, and administrators. I facilitate workshops, seminars, and professional development sessions on DEI topics. I also support schools in implementing DEI initiatives at the local level. My approach is solution-oriented and based on cultural humility. I collect, analyze, and report data on DEI metrics to identify areas for improvement, as well as use data to inform DEI strategies and measure the effectiveness of initiatives. There is a balance of the quantitative and the qualitative-the measurement of impact and the stories behind the numbers. All of this to ensure the success and positive growth of the young people and families we serve.
