With Universal Lending Corporation, I am engaged in marketing, promotions and new business development. I work closely with our retail loan officers to help grow their businesses. Whether it\'s creating videos to explain complex mortgage concepts to consumers, hosting first-time homebuyer events, or collaborating with Realtors at open houses and other promotional activities, the goal is to deliver tremendous value to homebuyer and their Realtors at every step of the process.For most Americans owning a home is the basic building block of financial independence, and I love being part of the process that helps families attain this milestone in their lives.What we saw leading up to the mortgage collapse in 2008 was that it was too easy to get a loan, too easy for homebuyers to get in over their heads, and too easy for banks to swell their balance sheets with toxic loans. Ultimately, the system collapsed and the entire country paid the price for these lax practices. Millions of Americans lost their homes, lost their jobs and/or suffered through the hardship and social humiliation of bankruptcy.As a result of that collapse, all mortgage companies are operating in a much more complex regulatory environment, and the business is tougher. But rather than pine for the way things were, at Universal Lending, we\'ve embraced the notion that complexity is our friend. We have great systems, great processes and great enthusiasm for underwriting loans that meet all of the compliance requirements while still delivering wonderful service to our homebuyers.I am proud to be part of the team that delivers this level of service to our customers.
